Case Study – Little Chestnuts Pre-School Woodmancote

The school

Little Chestnuts Pre-school opened in the autumn 2017, expanding the services provided by Woodmancote School.

“The pre-school has long been in our strategic plans. We believe it offers the ideal start to a child’s learning journey, ensuring a smooth transition into whichever school parents then choose for their child.” Gary Tucker, Head Teacher, Woodmancote School.

Our brief

To create a brand identity, marketing material and website to assist with the launch and ongoing marketing of the pre-school. It was important that the overall style sat comfortably alongside the brand we created for Woodmancote School a few years previously, to ensure a visual continuity between the two.

The process

First things first was the name. The chestnut tree from the school logo identity offered a clear starting point, with the need to reflect the nurturing element so key to a pre-school environment. Little Chestnuts became an obvious winner. We had a clear direction for the visual style, based upon the school logo we had designed. Following the unanimous approval of the logo design, we designed an interim website to help initial marketing of the pre-school.

Once building of the new pre-school was well underway and an opening date set, we developed the full pre-school website alongside additional marketing material and signage.

The result

  • Brand identity: A contemporary logo that sits comfortably alongside the Woodmancote School brand. Equally effective online as it is in print.
  • Stationery suite: Clean design, adapted across a suite of printed and digital documents.
  • Signage: External signage that matches the style of the new pre-school building and offers visibility within the local environment.
  • Website: A modern pre-school website that provides an accurate representation of what’s on offer. It’s easy for the school team to update and works across smartphone, desktop and tablet.
